October may be over but that doesn't mean the horror movies have to come to an end. Audiences may not fully realize it but they are living through a tremendous golden age of horror right now. Between 2017 and 2018 alone, there have been numerous horror films released that will go down in cinema history as all-time classics. From Get Out, to Annihilation, to Hereditary, to It, to Halloween, to Suspiria, it's been an absolutely incredible couple filme horror 2019 years for the genre. And thankfully, that trend doesn't seem to show any signs of stopping. With the genre's boom in financial success at the moment, there are more horror films in production right now than there have been in years. That's not to say all of them will be good. In fact, most probably won't. But, there are some absolutely incredible and tantalizing horror projects coming our way in 2019. These are the eight horror films you should be most excited about, coming in 2019. Glass Blumhouse For years, M. Night Shyamalan's name was synonymous with bad movies. After making a huge splash with The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable, his filmography devolved into still risky and ambitious but decidedly less well-made films like Lady in the Water, The Happening, and The Last Airbender. However, Shyamalan has been on a quest to reclaim his glory in the past few years. In teaming up with Blumhouse in 2015, he delivered The Visit, a found-footage horror flick which was solid enough to warrant more praise than any of his prior films had in nearly a decade. Then, in 2016, he and Blumhouse released Split, a genuinely great film that was anchored by tremendous performances from James McAvoy and Anya Taylor-Joy. The twist was, Split was also a stealth sequel to Unbreakable, setting up a third film in which all the characters would come together. Which brings us to Glass, the culmination of all of this. The trailers released thus far for the film filme horror 2019 promisingly bonkers, with Shyamalan opting to go even more meta with his analysis of the role of superheroes entertainment in the modern world, alongside a truly gonzo color palette and production design. It isn't clear yet if Glass is going to live up to Shyamalan's prior film, or if it will be a return to his more disappointing form. Regardless, it looks unmistakably Shyamalan-esque, so it will be either truly wonderful or ridiculously-fun-to-watch terrible.

Writer Gary Dauberman has quite a reputation in The Conjuring universe by writing the first two films and The Nun coming this September, however, this chapter in the Annabelle series will be his first attempt at directing a feature film. We're already looking at a —and we can look even further into the future, as studios are starting to fill slots for the year after. That film's success apparently prompted New Line to fast track another entry in the saga of the supernaturally possessed porcelain doll, first introduced in 2013's original The Conjuring. Plus, just look at this cast: , , , , , , , , , and more familiar faces still. Landon will also handle scripting duties this time around, with — including Rothe and Ruby Modine, daughter of Matthew — set to return. The gothic tale will follow the ominous events that unfold when a young governess is hired to take care of two children living in a haunted estate in Essex. But expect to see this one headed our way sometime in 2019! The release date for this killer flick is yet to be announced. Expanding the universe to include the entire ensemble, rather than just keeping it stuck on one Final Girl, is a great way to keep things fresh while still incorporating what drew people to the first one. Whether it be silver screen screams like Hereditary, A Quiet Place, or Halloween, or small-screen miniseries such as The Haunting of Hill House, horror fans have been inundated with great content in 2018.
